Thank you for your interest in registering as a vendor for Coast Con 2019. Below you will find all the basic information and guidelines that must be adhered to while attending the event as a vendor. This contract will outline rules and regulations for BOTH ARTISTS AND EXHIBITORS. Please fill out and submit the form below to let us know which one you are applying for to the email at exhibits@occoastcon.org


Vendors for Coast Con 2019 you must agree to follow the rules below. Once registration opens, entries will be reviewed so that applicants meet the standards and practices of Anime Academia [hosting organization] and Orange Coast College [venue]. Vendors will purchase their booths onsite. Cash ONLY. Any questions or concerns please send an e-mail to exhibits@occoastcon.org

Liability Agreement

Artists and vendors assume responsibility regarding theft, damages or losses incurred during the entirety of the Coast Con. Coast Con, Anime Academia and Orange Coast College are not held responsible for any theft, damages or losses during Coast Con. If you require additional help, please consider bringing a helper with you on the day of the event.

Set-up/Teardown Hours

Vendors will have a 4 hour window to set up

Set up [4/13] Saturday: 8 AM – Noon

Doors will open to the public on Saturday [4/13/19] at Noon and will close at 8 PM

Vendors can teardown as early as 6 PM and have until 10:00 PM to finish teardown

Table Space Rules & Check-in

Vendor spaces will be assigned for both artist alley and exhibitors. Please report to check-in at Con-Ops on April 13th no later than 12:00 P.M Failure to check in may result in forfeiture of vendor space. 

Sellers may not expand beyond the space provided to them. You may not re-position or alter your table in any way without expressed permission from event/Anime Academia officials.

No items may be hung on walls. Doing so will result in immediate expulsion of the event. If sellers wish to display items (i.e. posters), it is recommended that they bring easels, freestanding displays, or other methods of displaying their merchandise. 

Merchandise

We welcome all of the following merchandise to be sold in relation to the following:

Anime, Manga, Comics, Video Games. Trading Cards, Art, Collectibles. DVD’s, Blu-Rays, CD’s, Electronics, Video Games, Art, Figures, Collectibles, Manga, Comics, Clothing, Accessories, Cosplay, Props, Wigs, Handmade crafts, etc

If there is something we did not list but are still interested in selling please e-mail us at exhibits@occoastcon.org and we can help you out.

Fanart is allowed for sale provided: 

  • The art is not traced
  • The art is visually recognizable as not official art  
  • No logos or trademarked insignia are used without altercation. 

*Proxy sales will not be allowed unless the original artist contacts us prior to the convention with consent. Proxy sales or sales of traced art without consent are a bannable offense and grounds for dismissal from the event without refund. 

*The sale of any food products is prohibited. 

Adult Merchandise

Adult merchandise that is 18+ material is strictly prohibited. We are open to the public and are a kid-friendly event. No lewd/nude/sexually explicit/excessive gore/excessive violence is allowed. Sellers caught breaking this rule will asked to leave the venue and banned from future events

There are no exceptions to this rule. Covered, censored 18+ material, ID & Age verification and anything in similar nature is prohibited

Weapon Sales

No weapon sales are allowed. The venue is a college campus and as such, there is a zero tolerance rule in effect for weapon sales.

Prop Sales

Prohibited material/props include metal props, guns, firearms, and artillery resembling real weapons. This is a college campus and given the nature of the venue we have a strict zero-tolerance rule in effect that prohibits the sale or display of the material above.

Selection Process

The selection process will be semi-juried & first come first serve basis

The reason for semi-jury is because Anime Academia [hosting organization] must abide by Orange Coast College’s [venue] guidelines. There is a strict ban on the selling or depiction of the following material:

  • drugs and/or paraphernalia
  • extreme violence [decapitation, realistic mass violence, etc]
  • sexually explicit material [18+ material, nudity, display of intercourse, doujins, hentai, etc]

The semi-juried process will in no other way affect the selection process regarding quality or subjective taste in craft, art, merchandise, etc. It is strictly to filter out material and content that conflicts with the morals and guidelines of the venue.  

All applicants that abide by the guidelines listed above will be receive acceptance letters after the applications have been reviewed by our department.

Waitlist

Applicants that are not accepted will automatically be placed on a waitlist. Waitlisters will receive an email if a spot opens up and must RSVP within 24 hours of receiving the email to reserve their spot. Please check your spam to make sure we are not on your spam list as there are no exceptions if you miss your notification.
